I can't activate my Apple Watch

If you can't activate your Apple Watch before using it for the first time or after having restored it, there may be several causes of the problem.

If there's a general network problem in a certain area, it may be be due to a temporary network error.

Solution: Try activating your Apple Watch later or when you're in another area. Check our Service Status Page for any scheduled or unexpected events, such as maintenance work or outages that may affect your Telstra services.

The network coverage may differ from area to area. In certain areas it may be so low that it's not possible to activate your Apple Watch.

Solution: Check our network coverage maps for coverage information and to confirm expected signal strength and speeds in your area.
If you've checked the map and aren't getting reception, but think you should be, we need to know about it. Please complete our coverage feedback form on the same page.

To activate your Apple Watch, the activation needs to be done correctly.

Solution: Activate your Apple Watch

Place your Apple Watch next to your phone.
