Help & support guides for your Telstra Smart Modem 4
I can't turn on my modem
If you can't turn on your modem, there may be several causes of the problem.
To turn on your modem, it needs to be connected correctly.
Solution:Â Start using your modem
Turn the back of your modem towards you.
Connect the power supply to the power plug and to a wall socket.
If you've set up a 4G/5G Home Internet service, the front LED will turn solid blue when your modem has established a connection to the 4G/5G network.
To use an NBN Connection Box, connect one end of the network cable (red connector) to the "WAN" port on your modem. Connect the other end of the network cable (yellow connector) to your NBN Connection Box.
To use a DSL connection, connect one end of the network cable (grey connector) to the "DSL" port on your modem and the other end directly to the wall phone socket.
To use an Opticomm or Satellite connection, scan the QR code on the enclosed "Quick Start Guide" or go to telstra.com/modem to find the relevant instructions.
When the front LED turns solid green, an internet connection has been established and your modem is ready for use.
Please note, that it may take at least 3 minutes before your modem is fully synchronised and activated.
Connect a network cable to one of the "LAN" ports on your modem and to your computer.
